Last week, the Colorado House Judiciary Committee held a public hearing to discuss House Bill 10-1284 (2010). Before the meeting started protests outside the state capital led to one arrest of a protestor who was apparently pissing off the wrong cops. The revised bill wasn’t officially released until the meeting started, which made testifying more challenging. So much for letting everyone have a chance to be prepared, but hey, that’s politics, right?

While viewing the news, I saw Chris Romer speaking just before a senate committee was set to vote on his legislative atrocity and hypocritical attempt to solve what he calls, “a small crisis,” in Colorado. Along with this story you will find the video I am referring to where Chris Romer makes all kinds of promises that are actually nowhere in the bill. To start off, I would like to analyze his language regarding the medical marijuana community.

As a very wise man I know recently said, "The train has left the station," and when it comes to medical marijuana this statement is totally applicable. Now that the legalization of the medicine has swept 14 states in the nation, all the issues associated with cannabis as medicine are starting to surface right along with the obvious lack of efficient problem solving on the part of local governments.
